This year we have been delighted to welcome a wonderful range of speakers to our Thursday conversations.
In January we welcomed Alexander McLean and heard about the wonderful work of African Prisons Project. A donation was sent from the church to say thank you and to support the work of the charity. In February Ruth Hunt CEO of Stonewall shared how Stonewall works with faith organisations to promote acceptance of LGBT people at home and abroad. In March Jonathan Aitken was with us and shared his story and his work in prison reform. In April we enjoyed meeting the writer and broadcaster Bonnie Greer, and in May we welcomed Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones. Last month, Lord Hogan-Howe gave up his time to be with us when we discussed a range of topics including freedom of speech, mental health issues in the police force, firearms and fear of violent crime.
Do join us on the first Thursday of the month! Upcoming guests include:
5th July 2018 Christopher Tajah will perform a short version of ‘Dream of a King’ and we will discuss the legancy of Martin Luther King Jnr
There is no Conversation in August
6th September 2018 Nicola williams the Service Complaints Ombudsman for the Armed Forces
The October and November speakers are tbc but in December we are delighted that Frank Field MP will be our guest.
