Would your company consider this ancient Wren church as its charity for 2012? Please speak to Linda, or to Canon Flora, on 0207 626 4184

Those who flocked to our carol services noted the warmth this year; an efficient, modern boiler has now been installed. This suits the Organ much better, as it eliminates extreme changes of temperature, but it has proved very expensive.

We are going ahead with improvements to the lavatories and kitchen in February, too.  The more people come in to the church, the more we need these utilities for everyone.  Payment of your parish rate or other charitable donations are therefore all the more gratefully received as we are not well-off in cash terms!

VOCES8

VOCES8

For four years now St Mary-at-Hill has been home to VOCES8

"The slickest of the lot … two parts King’s Singers, three parts Swingle Singers, a dash of Bobby McFerrinn and California sunshine … fans of a cappella ought to hear this, not just for the singing but the production values and Jim Clements audacious arrangements."
Andrew McGregor CD Review BBC Radio 3

VOCES8 rehearses in the Church several times a month, when not on tour.
They perform for our major festivals and church fund-raisers throughout the year.
St Mary's is delighted to enjoy such a special relationship with these talented singers who lend their individual style and flair, as well as their professional touch to our musical repertoire.

VOCES8 plays a key role in the education work of the non-profit foundation Voces Cantabiles Music. The group leads innovative workshops as part of larger outreach projects in two-hundred schools throughout the UK, France, Sweden and the USA. VOCES8's education work extends to workshops and master-classes with people of all ages and abilities with the aim of inspiring creativity through music.

If you are interested in arranging such a session, and hiring the church for it, contact St Mary's Director of Music; Robert Smith.
